EVENT OVERVIEW

The Track Shootout is a gate-to-gate timed competition run on a designated portion of the M1 Concourse road course. Each car is released from the grid individually at a spaced interval set by the starter. Your time starts when you cross the start gate timing loop and stops when you cross the finish gate. Multiple cars will be on course at the same time, but passing is strictly prohibited this is a race against the clock, not the car ahead.

This year, we will have three classes of Track Shootout competition:

  • FORCED INDUCTION  any vehicle utilizing a turbocharger, supercharger, or nitrous oxide. No limits on engine modification, power level, or aerodynamics.
  • NA (Naturally Aspirated 8 Cylinders or More)  any vehicle powered without a power adder, with an engine configuration of 8 or more cylinders. No limits on modification or aerodynamics.
  • NA (Naturally Aspirated 6 Cylinders or Fewer)  any vehicle powered without a power adder, with an engine configuration of 6 cylinders or fewer. No limits on modification or aerodynamics.

Rotary-engined vehicles: NA 2-rotor runs in NA (6 Cylinders or Fewer); NA 3+ rotor runs in NA (8 Cylinders or More); turbo/supercharged rotaries run in Forced Induction.

There will be open timed sessions in which each participant will receive multiple runs. Our timing system will capture the time of each run, and your best single run counts toward the final standings in your class. The track is scheduled to be ready to run at 9:30 am.
